This Post is Bananas...{Recipe}

B-A-N-A-N-A-S
anyone else with me on my Gwen Stefani throwback?

On a real note, this post really is about bananas... Banana Bread that is!

This past weekend I kicked off my holiday baking while simultaneously watching the Pats kill the Dolphins.

I picked these adorable little ceramic dishes up from the Christmas Tree Shop which, if you do not live near Orlando, FL or New Hampshire..you probably don't know what that is...basically it is the best worst store that could ever happen to you. Think walmart+target+michaels+hobby lobby+ marshalls+pier one+bjs all in one...yeah..its bad..but good!
$0.20..yes thats right..twenty cents!

Anyways! I picked up these little ceramic dishes a few weeks ago solely for the purpose of making holiday treats. My dads all time favorite treat is banana bread so, I started my baking extravaganza with that.

These dishes were perfect because my dad likes nuts and my mom does not. I was able to make one batch of mix and 5 different types!

Greek Banana Bread
What You Will Need
-3-4 mashed bananas
-1 1/2 cups flour
-1 cup sugar
-1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (I used Chobani)
-1/2 cup butter
-2 eggs
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp baking soda
-1 tsp vanilla
-mix-ins of your choice!

What You Will Do (if making in smaller dishes)
1. preheat oven to 350* and grease five mini loaf pans
2. mix all ingredients together. blend on a medium speed for 1-2 minutes
3. evenly distribute batter into each pan
4. add mix ins to each pan. stir with spoon. make not of which one is which
5. place in oven on a large cookie sheet
6. bake 45minutes- 1 hour. test with tooth pick at 45 minutes
7. enjoy!

if using one large bread pan, follow same steps but place in one pan and cook for 1 hour and 25-30 minutes.

What do you like to put in your banana bread?

  1. I don't think I've ever actually made my own banana bread, but I've certainly enjoyed it when other people have made it for me! :)
