Brown Sugar Pecan Cookies {Recipe}

Hey y'all! So, with all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I found myself pulling out all the stops for everyones dessert and cookie preferences. Several of John's family members are unable to eat chocolate (I know, unbelievable, right?) but, I adore them so, I have been perfecting chocolate-less desserts that we can all enjoy.

One of the biggest hits over the holidays and the treat that was requested three times were these Brown Sugar Pecan Cookies!
What You Will Need
-2 cups flour
-1 cup butter
-1/2 cup sugar
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1/2 cup chopped pecans
-1 egg
-1 tsp vanilla
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1/4 tsp salt
frosting:
-1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
-1 cup brown sugar
-1/2 cup milk
-1 tbsp butter

What You Will Do
preheat oven to 350* and prep a cookie sheet, combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. cover and chill for 20 minutes. form dough into 1 in. rounds and place 2 in. apart on baking sheet. bake for 10-12 minutes.


let cookies cool for 1 hour. combine frosting ingredients and ice the tops of the cookies. add a pecan half for decoration. let the icing set (about 10 minutes) and the cookies will be stackable as the icing will be hard.
