The Weekend of Nothing+My Golden Globes Recap

So, I would really love to thrill you with a post filled with amazing memories that were made this weekend and lavish pictures of me and the girls but honestly, this was a very uneventful weekend for the four of us. Nevertheless, I am linking up with Bella from Weekend Recap & Meg from Mingle Monday!

On Friday, I spent the day running errands and working on my latest DIY project, the table. I bought all of the tiles and love the color combination..I just can't seem to commit to a design I like.. this is serious stuff people.. once the tiles are glued and grouted, there is no turning back!

Saturday, the Pats played the Ravens at 4..this was a huge game so I pulled out all of the stops with the food: Sausage, Peppers and Onions, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Meatballs, and Cheesy Bacon Potatoes. We sent ourselves into a food coma complete with Magic Hat #9 but, our Pats did slay! Things got a bit tense in our house but the boys brought home a W so we are on to play the Colts next! After the intense game, J watched the 8 o'clock game while I slipped into a warm bath.

And finally, Sunday the ultimate day of nothing. J ran into work for a bit and the dogs and I took a 'joy ride' over to my parents to check on things while they're out of town. When we all returned home, J watched more football and I worked on homework for an hour or so then watched a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills marathon and Frozen. I joined J for a bit in the living room to watch Payton Manning prance around the field then we ended the night with Outback and the Golden Globes.

-Golden Globes 2015-
I have to say, I am disappointed. There was not nearly enough Tina&Amy! The opening monologue though, was killer. Tina totally slayed George Clooney, while acknowledging the Lifetime Achievement Award he would be receiving later on in the show she brought up all of the very prestigious and monumental things his newbie wife has done.. ya know, the actual relevant things. Amy also touched on the Cosby scandal and the crowd went wild! They also had no fear bringing up North Korea..preach it ladies, preach!

The fashion picks for this years show were...mind boggling to say the least. I fully understand that these are all multi-millionaires and I am no where close to being them but damn ladies! hire a better stylist!
Melissa McCarthy/Kaite Holmes/Claire Danes/ Kiera Knightly
Kerry Washington/Lena Dunham/Lana Del Ray

Melissa: I will say that at most award shows, she looks fabulous so, I am not sure if she was trying something new here or...? but it was not working for me!
Katie:..those extensions were just awful..awful, awful, awful!
Claire: I am not totally sure what the heck was going on but I wanted it to stop.
Kiera: Oh my goodness. I honestly didn't recognize her at first in the audience with this atrocious piece on!
Kerry: You know it's bad when my fashion challenged boyfriend asks "What the heck does she have on?"
Lena: There is a lot that I have an issue with here..
Lana: no words.

Unlike the ladies above, these ladies below slayed the fashion scene last night!
Reese Witherspoon/ Greer Grammer/ Christine Baranski/Brooke Anderson
Quvenzhane Wallis/Amy Adams/Kathrine Heigl/Kate Beckinsdale

Reese: She is queen. Her outfits are always on point
Greer: I wasn't really sure who this was at first but, this gown is G O R G E O U S
Christine: fierce.
Brooke: This black gown is so simple but it is beautiful!
Quvenzhane: how can anyone think she is not the cutest little thing out there? So much poise for such a young little lady!
Amy: I kind of wish that she had a brighter lip color but the gown is gorgeous
Katherine: slayed.
Kate: I am on a mission to find a look-a-like idea where I will wear it but it is fabulous.

Anyways, I will leave you with that. I hope you all have a great week! Don't forget to link up with the ladies above! Have a great week.

  1. Tina and Amy did a good job although I agree there was not enough of them!! What was Kerry Washington wearing? sighs ... Lena I expect her to look like that. And all your good looks were mine as well!

  2. I love Reese Witherspoon, she always looks gorgeous! I totally agree with all of your worst dressed picks, WOW those are bad!! I'm the same as you, I didn't do much this weekend but that's ok with me! Happy Monday! :)

  3. I would have loved to see more Tina and Amy too! Those two can get away with anything!

  4. I think Lena Dunham is a talented, funny woman but I don't think I've ever seen her wear something on the red carpet that was a win. ever. and it has nothing to do with her size, shape, etc. she just picks things that are so unflattering. i can't, ugh.

  5. I wasn't super impressed with the fashion last night but I thought Reese Witherspoon and Chrissy Teigen both looked amazing!

  6. Reese Witherspoon always looks so classy! You can't go wrong with classic. And I was really disappointed in Kerry Washington. Her style is always so on point! I have to say, my husband is a Ravens fan and he was pretty disappointed on Saturday! And uneventful weekends are quickly becoming my favorite!
