Spending Wednesday Night with Adam Levine

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yassssssss!-but, we will come back to this! This week has been pretty awesome so, I will be linking up my weekly recap with these fine ladies:

Karli for Oh Hey Friday!
All of the girls for 5 on Friday
All of the girls for High Five Friday
Jennie for Friday Favorites
Rebecca for That Friday Blog Hop
Leslie for Confessional Friday
Amanda for Friday Favorites

so, if you recall, last weekend, John and I took a quick trip up to Disney/Universal so, this meant that our pups went to "puppy day care" aka: Grammie Joyce's house. She has four other Boston Terriers so, Yoda fits right in there and Chloe likes it too. It is always so fun to pick them up and see them all playing together. They are very spoiled well loved! While I was there, Joyce was also making homemade turkey soup (see the begging dogs and big ass turkey) I adore being over there as I do not have grandparents of my own, his have really stepped up to be so sweet to me. Monday night, we also double dated with my parents. I got to pick the restaurant so naturally, I picked Thai food! J and I both left there with extra full bellies but, thats pretty typical haha! We spent the rest of the night snuggling with the pups and watching The Bachelor

the most exciting part of this week was a little text message that I received at 6am Wednesday morning:
J:"Hey girlie, do you like Maroon 5??"
S:"Um...yeah, why?"
J:"They will be in Channelside tonight...and I have two tickets..wanna go?"

can I just tell you, I am never excited to get out of bed at 6am nor do I do so willingly but, Wednesday morning, I leaped out of bed with excitement! (obviously my answer to the last text was yes!) Julie is basically like my second mom/aunt type. I have known her and her children since they were 3 (now, 20) and our families would celebrate all major holidays together and we have just always been super close. We met at 330 and left for Channelside around 4 to beat traffic. We grabbed drinks and an amazing dinner at the Waterside Grill across from the Amalie Arena before going to see sexy Adam Levine shake his booty on stage. I can hands down say that this was one of the best concerts that I have ever been to!

After a very exciting week, I am looking forward to a chill weekend with my babe and the dogs! I hope each and everyone of you has a fabulous and safe weekend!

The Boyfriend Chronicles {Pt. 1: You Met How?!}

So, I don't know if it is just me or if this is a 'normal' thing but, I adore reading about other people's relationships so, I decided to start a little mini-series called "The Boyfriend Chronicles"sharing our story together!

This is John circa 1994. adorable, right? He now is 26 and a New England native, Georgetown, Massachusetts, to be exact. He moved down to Florida in 2007. It was an unplanned move of sorts but it worked out in my favor as he happens to be my boyfriend now!

The first picture he ever sent me.

So I would love to say that we have some super funny, romantic movie type, quirky story of how we met but, we don't. We actually met online-judge us if you must.
So, yes, we met online. I know literally everyone says this but, I had an account on there because, at the time I was working overnights at a hotel and my coworker met the guy she was seeing at the time on there and so we made my account together one night. I wasn't hopeful and didn't put much thought into it. I ended up going on 2 dates before I almost deleted my profile..they were NIGHTMARES anyways, one night while I was at work, John messaged me on there. Our conversation started "normally" with the same questions back and forth but, it lasted almost all night. The next day, he messaged me again asking if I'd want to go out to dinner one night.

From then on, we started hanging out more and more between different sporting events, dinner, and movies. For the longest time, we would either avoid the "how did you meet" question or we may or may not have lied and said that we met through friends.
We finally talked about it and decide to stop avoiding it and to just own it. Online dating does have a bad rap but, it worked for us.

J made it official on June 28, 2013-(flowers included) He's a pretty stellar guy and I am a pretty happy girl!

How did you and your significant other meet?

Florida, You're Cold!

Alright you North-Easterners I fully understand that Florida is not nearly as cold as it is up there...and we don't have snow but for Florida, brrrrr! I am totally bundled up with a heated blanket, uggs and coffee! Anyways, lets get on with the celebration of F R I D A Y!

1. so, its no secret that I have been Disney-crazed lately so we took the leap and became passholders! This actually happened in January but I finally got my passholder magic band this week! So, to celebrate, that is where we will be this weekend! Being a passholder makes so much sense if you are a FL resident as you save so much in the long run, you get discounts on parking, merchandise, and food plus discounts on rooms! I am so excited to plan lots and lots of future Dis-trips!

2. We had a family dinner with Johns family on Tuesday. We went to Carrabbas and it was a blast. The conversations went over everything from school to work to music to horses to strip clubs to family bashing to movies and traveling. I completely adore this family and am so lucky and happy to be a part of it.

3. My momma and I met for lunch yesterday at Seasons 52 which turned into a two and a half hour talk sesh complete with a bottle of wine Jam Jar White Blend, highly recommended! Nothing better than some mommy-daughter bonding!

4. Shout out to Emily Brand from Martini's&Bikinis for her amazing crockpot ribs with sweet potato recipe! I made a few small changes but they turned out amazingly!

5. My little co-pilots and I are out and about running errands on this chilly day! I am glad I was too lazy to take chlobear to get shaved earlier this week because she would be shivering! #prostobeinglazy

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and stay warm!

Join Me: Young Living Essential Oils

So, here we are in 2015. I am sure that you have heard all the buzz about essential oils and if you are anything like me, you don't buy it. I get it. I have been there.

Although I am not all about the pills and drugstore remedies, I am also very skeptical about all of this "holistic" stuff. My mind however, was changed when I was forced to go to the doctor four times in one month.. not only did that add up quickly but, it was inconvenient and frustrating.

Basically, I was getting this awful pain and pressure in my right ear in waves. It would come and go about everything weeks. The doctor gave me some ear drops that did literally nothing. I went to my moms one night basically crying and she rubbed some peppermint oil on my ear and the pain instantly stopped. I was mind blown.

Obviously, you have to apply more as needed but it is insane that a little bottle of oil cured my pain when four doctors could not. Anyways, her and my sister are very very into oils and now I am too.

I am a new member of Young Living and I want to help you. Essential oils have the potential to assist you with anything from headaches to ingrown nails to cramps. They also make your house smell amazing while they are diffusing. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for cosmetic purposes, spiritual reason, and emotionally uplifting properties. Young Living Oils are carefully extracted through steam distillation and cold pressing. These are the purest oils that one can buy.

I am officially addicted to essential oils! If you have any questions about Young Living oils, want to try them, or become a distributor yourself, please feel free to email me at runge91@gmail.com or, if you are already familiar with oils, use my member number below to get great deals on Young Living Oils!

A Weekend of Love

Happy Monday little love birds! I hope each and everyone of you had a fabulous weekend spoiling and pampering yourself or with your significant other! I have to say, I am really not the biggest Valentine's Day fan but, I was pleasantly surprised this year. I am linking up with Bella from Weekend Recap and Meg from Mingle Monday to fill you in on my weekend!

Friday was the day of babies. I babysat from 12pm to 1am for a family that I just absolutely adore. The children are such love bugs and I adore being there. With that, there is not much to recap haha.

Bring on Saturday, every morning, John calls me when he leaves the warehouse and starts his route. I was exhausted as I didn't get home until 145 after babysitting and I didn't end up falling asleep until 315am so, this 715am phone call came early! Anyways, he called and asked "are you thristy"..as in go to the kitchen, I walked in the kitchen and there rested my Valentine's Day part 1, a bear, card (with the sweetest message ever) and turtles..aka my fav! He then requested me to stay home and relax until I received a second present. As confused as I was, I agreed and laid back down. Around 11am, a knock was at the door which brought a delicious edible bouquet...yum! Then, babes came home around 330 and I had his gifts all ready and sitting on the corner of the island and he presented me with the ring below..now, before you get all excited, it is not an engagement ring but a promise ring that "he is committed to me and our relationship and wants a long lasting future with me. It is also a promise that he plans to propose to me "sooner rather than later". I completely bawled.
We finished out night with dinner at a local restaurant about 20 minutes away. We indulged in sweet breads with red rock prawns, goat cheese with tomato relish, beef tenderloin and scallop stuffed salmon. We also had chocolate pear bread pudding and a ginger caramel creme for dessert but... we ate those way to fast to get a picture!
Finally, on Sunday, J ran into work for a bit then we snuggled while watching Mean Girls. We then ran out to the mall to window shop and grab lunch. When we returned home, we watched some more random tv and I got to give J a 'spa treatment'..he loved it. We then did homework and finished the night with Gone Girl and homemade chicken and broccoli stirfry!

I hope you all had fabulous weekends! Thanks for stopping by.

Get Juiced! {Recipe}

I love juicing. I know there are a lot of opinions on the topic but for John and I, juicing has worked. We bought out juicer, a Juice Bullet back in December of 2013. I can honestly say that I have used it every week since.

My opinion on juicing which comes from my personal results and a lot of research is that like most things, it is good in moderation. We do not juice to skip meals. We do it to supplement. I will make a juice and drink it while I am eating a protein muffin for breakfast or when I am walking out the door, I will grab a cup of juice and a water to stay hydrated. Juicing gives me extra energy.

I will typically spend about 30 minutes every Sunday night prepping and juicing enough for 144oz. I will make two different juices for us to choose from through out the week so we don't get bored of the same one it equals out to 72oz. per carafe and about 10 oz. per day.

Orange Beets Kale (for 72oz.)
-15 Clementines
- 1/2 of a medium sized beet
-1 bunch of kale
-1 large carrot

peel the clementines, cut the beet into quarter sized chunks, break down the kale, and cut the carrot into fourths. throw in the juicer and you are good to go!

Green Monster (for 72oz.)
-1 bunch of Kale
-1 1/2 handfuls of spinach
-1/2 of a pineapple
-3 green apples
-20 purple grapes

break down the kale, cut the pineapple into quarter sized chunks, core and slice the green apples, remove the stem from the grapes!

Do you juice? What is your opinion? What are your go to recipes? Link up with Emily and Kate!

Mickey's and Minnie's and Donald's Oh Boy!

I have sucked at blogging lately.. like bad and for that, I apologize. I have seriously been so busy with school and work and John's family has been in town so it has been kinda crazy around here!

Anyways, last week, I left on Tuesday morning for Walt Disney World with John's family. We left at 6am and came back Thursday night at 5pm. We did the four parks, downtown, two shows, and we drank around the world. It was a complete blast and I am so thankful for any and every chance that I get to spend with his family.

On Friday, Jeff, Emily and I decided to take a quick trip up to the Florida State Fair. The people watching and of course, the food were definitely on point! We indulged in roasted corn on the cob, ribbon fries covered in bacon and cheese, chocolate covered bacon, strawberry shortcake, fried oreos, fried resses, and fried zucchini and mushrooms...holy fried!

Saturday started out awfully. Kathy, John's Aunt and Emily, his cousin, had a flight out of Tampa at 1030 am. Tampa is about an hour away so, John's grandmother and I planned to leave by 8 to get them there on time. On my way to her house, I stopped for gas. When I was done pumping, my car would not turn over. Thankfully, it was a cool day out because I had both furbabes in the car with me. I called his grandmother right away and let her know what was going on so they weren't waiting on me. AAA only took two and a half hours to get to me... mind you, again, it was 730 am when this happened...how many car issues can happen at that hour..on a Saturday?! The not-so-nice AAA guy said that my battery had died and it was just under the proper amount of voltage to turn over. He jumped me then I headed straight to the Nissan dealership. Thankfully, my car is only 1 1/2 years old so the battery was covered under warranty.

After this pretty crappy start, my day turned for the better. On my way home from Nissan, I decided to stop and get my car washed..I pulled in and was talking to the lady who informed me that the guy in front of me paid for my wash as a 'pay it forward' type of a thing. I was completely astonished. I finished running errands then came home to cuddle with the pups. J and I decided to have a date night with dinner and a movie. We saw The Loft...I wasn't a fan.

On Sunday, J and I took a "date day" trip up to the fair as he wasn't able to go on Friday. We again indulged in some of the worst awful food we could find and it was fabulous. We returned home to cuddle, watch movies and then question the choices of the 2015 Grammy Producers. I was not overly thrilled!

Well, that is my weekend story. I hope you all have fabulous weeks and don't forget to link up with these beauties:Bella from Weekend Recap and Meg from Mingle Monday

DIY: BoozeBouquet!

Hey dolls!
My not so baby, baby sister turned 21 in December-ahh! I was trying to think of a creative gift (more so than throwing a bottle of wine in a bag) and I came across a BoozeBouquet on Pinterest. I fell in love with this idea. It is just what it sounds like.. a bouquet of different alcohols!
What You Will Need
-a container/bucket (I picked a planter because Meg loves gardening)
-several foam pieces to fill in the bottom of the container
-mini alcohol bottles (I used liquor and wine)
-1-2 full sized bottles
-extra little gifts (koozies, tumblers, snacks, advil, etc
-kraft shread for filling the container
-hot glue gun
-wooden dowels
-a cute helper!

STEPS
1. Start filling the bottom of the container you chose with the foam so the wooden dowels have something to go into

2. Fluff out and place the kraft shred into the bucket on top of the foam.

3. Start glueing the dowels onto the bottoms of the bottles. I started with just a little dot then built it up around the sticks.

4. Make sure your helper is still there!

5. Start placing the wooden dowels into the foam-do not push down on the bottles..push down on the dowels.

6. Place the rest of the items in the bucket however you wish

7. Decorate the bucket or tie a ribbon around it!

Happy Crafting!

DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas+ {GIVEAWAY}

Good morning dolls!
I don't know about you but, I am not the biggest fan of Valentine's Day. I don't believe that one day should be singled out for people to show that they love their significant other in over the top ways. I also however, feel that when you are in a relationship, it isn't one of those things that you can just skip.

John and I have been dating for two years now. We came to the agreement that instead of being over the top, we would each make something for the other to show our love and appreciation in observance of the the holiday-especially since we are always spoiling each other on other random days.

Here are five thoughtful, easy, and creative DIY projects that I think would make the perfect V-Day gift!

1. The ____ Things I Love About You Jar

This is what I made for J last year. It is super simple but very heartfelt.

You Will Need:
-a mason jar with lid
-ribbon
-construction paper
-scissors
-sharpie

You Will Do:
1. with your scissors,  start cutting out various sized heart shapes-big enough to write on but small enough to fit in the jar-I ended up making 112.
2. start writing things that you love about your significant other on the heart cut outs-anything from a physical feature, to a habit, to a trait they possess.
3. when you have all of your hearts completed, start stuffing the jar.
4. place the lid on and tie a ribbon around the lip.

When I gave this to J, I placed it in a gift bag with tissue paper, a picture of us, and a $15 gift card to dunkin' donuts.

2. DIY Shadow Box Frame
You Will Need
-an unfinished shadow box frame ($3-$15 at Hobby Lobby)
-acrylic paint
-paint brushes
-sand paper
hot glue gun
-scrapbook clips/pins
-cardstock
-picture(s) of you
-old ticket stubs/paper souvenirs, etc.

You Will Do
1. sand down the outside wooden part of the frame to remove any splinters
2. with your color of choice, paint the frame as you wish. I chose black and yellow for J's for the Boston Bruins
3. Let dry for 24 hours
4. Once dry, cut the card stock to fit the back of the frame. also, you may want to jazz up your souvenirs so, you can cut card stock and mount the tickets on to it with modge podge
5. start placing things where you want them..I used scrap book sized clothes pins so we can change the pictures out.
6.with the hot glue gun, glue the pictures or clips into place.
7. arranged the tickets/souvenirs at the base of the frame.
8. seal the back on, wrap, and gift!
this is the one I made last year.

3. DIY Love Coupons
this gift can be as silly or as intimate as you make it!
You Will Need
cardstock
sharpie
one hole punch
ribbon

You Will Do
1. layer two different colors of cardstock together with the lighter color on top.
2. write what your coupon is good for: (breakfast in bed, a new sports team shirt, dinner at a place of your choice, etc)
3. decorate as you choose and repeat with more
4.when done (I did 24) hole punch each one and thread through ribbon

4. True Life Love Story
Walmart and Target both offer a photo book making service at a super reasonable price ($9.50)
upload your pictures to their site and create a photo book of memories with your significant other. Use funny quotes, inside jokes, etc. Mine was ready within an hour of submitting it.
