The Weekend That Began On Wednesday...

Happy Monday Loves! This past week/weekend has been a whirlwind but so so much fun! I am linking up today with Meg from Life of Meg  and Biana from B Loved Boston.

So, first, foremost, and most importantly, John's brother (19) graduated from Air Force Fire School Monday! We are all so proud of him and watching him go from high school to basic to tech school and all the changes he has gone through is incredible. He definitely has a very bright future ahead of him and I could not be more proud or excited for him.

On Wednesday/Thursday, Jeff and I headed up to Disney for Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival! We didn't plan on staying over but it just sort of happened. We stayed at the Yacht Club and let me tell you, for it being a "Deluxe Resort"...I would take a "Moderate" such as POP over it every time. We spent a total of 75 minutes between Wednesday and Thursday standing at the front desk with a snarky cast member. Not pleased is a generous description. However, the Flower and Garden Festival was amazing. If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend:
-Kung Po Chicken Bun from Lotus House in China
-Sweet Potato Cinnamon Waffle with Pineapple Soft Serve from the Pineapple Pavillon
-Falafel Pocket from Taste of Marrakesh in Morocco
-Blueberry Pomegranate Margarita from Jardin de Fiesta in Mexico
-Watermelon Passion Fruit Slush from Florida Slush
-Polar Beer from Botanas Botanico

We did all the rides and explored the Flower and Garden Festival by 2pm so we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging in the Yacht Club's pool and working. Praise the beauty of wifi and laptops!

We ended our night with my favorite fireworks show of them all, Wishes. For anyone that knows me I would die to see Wishes. I don't know why it is my favorite but, it absolutely love it!

On Thursday when we got back from Orlando, my dad and I took off for M I A M I!

My dad is an investor for a new all electric car concept called the Rimac, Concept_One. This past weekend, Miami hosted the first US Electric Car Race. The owners of the car shipped it here for hot laps, promotions, and marketing so they invited us to join them. We left Sarasota around 3pm and arrived in Miami at 730. We got settled at our hotel and then met the Rimac team for dinner at a Mexican Restaurant.

I hadn't been to Miami in about two years but I forgot how delicious all of the food was!

Friday was the set up and pit walk day and Saturday was the day of the actual race. It was so neat to be there and especially with my dad because he is so insanely passionate about electric cars. Anyways, I will let the rest of the pictures speak for themselves!

Thanks Miami, It was fun,

I hope you all had fabulous weekends!

  1. Sounds like so much fun! I've never been to the Flower and Garden Festival but I've heard it's awesome! Sad that the Yacht Club wasn't a great experience though! :(

  2. Amen to that quote! That food also looks super yummy! I'm visiting Florida for the first time next month and am busy trying to decide what things to do and see. It's not really a 'Disney' trip but we'll probably visit a few things in that general area. The Flower & Garden festival sounds like it would be beautiful! I hope the rest of the week is just as great as your weekend! :)

  3. That looks like an amazing weekend!!

  4. It looks like you had an amazing time, that food looks so delish!
