Wine Lovers, This One's For You!

There are many things that the majority of the girls I have met through this blogging world can agree on. If I had to pick three, they would be: the art of brunching, never having "too many" shoes, and a good glass of wine come 5 o'clock just about every night.

As weird as it sounds, wine has always been 'special' to me. My dad has always been a wine collector. My first job was actually a bar tender at a country club in Ohio at 19 (which no, that isn't legal) but, I was one of the only people that could correctly explain the difference between a merlot and pinot noir (thanks daddy)! I never tried alcohol of any form before 21 though. I learned from listening to my dad.

I personally feel much more classy and grown up when I am sipping on a glass of wine as opposed to sucking down a fruity margarita (although I love my margs!)Wine can almost tell a story. One glass holds so much depth with several different flavor profiles and notes.

Like I said, I have gotten pretty much all of my wine knowledge from my dad but, it can still be a bit intimidating when walking into a liquor store or wine cellar and being faced with aisles upon aisles and racks upon racks of bottles from reds to whites, sweet to dry and just about every country you can think of.

Well y'all, there is a solution!

Bright Cellars is a wine subscription service much like stitch fix, ipsy, bark box, but for WINE!

When you go to their website, you will be greeted with a Wine Quiz. They ask fun questions such as what type of chocolate your prefer, what your favorite liquor based drink is and about eight others! Then, you will be matched with four wines that they feel meet your preferences best. You have ten minutes to read the descriptions and you can either accept those choices or, they will re-match you. You are able to have them send you a mix of reds and whites, just reds, or just whites.

Once you have your four bottles set, they you enter your shipping and payment info then the bottles will be on their way!

Once you receive them, it is important to rate them as you try. When you rate them, the feedback will help them pick out better or other similar wines for you for the next time! This is a great subscription service because, you are able to cancel at any time, you will receive bottles that you may not pick up on the average trip to the liquor store, is wine delivered to your door... I mean hello?!

I placed my first subscription order on Saturday April 18th and received it Monday April 27!

In my box, I received:

1. Tenuta Margherita Sauvignon Blanc 2011

2. Nebel Riseling 2013

3. Costa Hermosa Chardonnay 2014

4. Susurro Pinot Noir 2014

the original total for all four bottles was $60.00. However, I had a 50% off coupon and received these all for $30.00+$8.00 Shipping. $38 for four bottles!

I have a referral code for you too! If you are interested in signing up for Bright Cellars, you can use this link and receive 50% off your first box!

Stay tuned for a full vlog review on each wine I received that will be posted on Monday!!

What is your favorite type of wine?

  1. This would be amazing if only they shipped to Canada! Love that you have that connection with your dad. ;)

  2. I've never been a fan or wine...awful I know. I just don't like the taste. I like sweet girly drinks, like Mike's Hard Lemonade haha.

  3. Now this is a subscription box I can definitely get on board with :-D

    Happy Friday gurlie <3

  4. Wow, that's an awesome subscription!

  5. Wine! My go-tos are Reisling, Cava, Rose, Gewurztraminer. Pretty much anything that's light and refreshing. I love trying new varietals! The only wines I don't like are super dry reds. Pinot Noir is probably my go-to red.

  6. Legit. Every blogger's dream subscription box. Wine. Definitely checking this out!

  7. I wish I liked wine to do this!! Sounds like such an awesome idea!

  8. I love sauvignon blanc and red blends best!

  9. I love sauvignon blanc and red blends best!

  10. I always think wine is special too! My husband makes delicious margaritas, but when we have a bottle of wine for date night it just feels like a special touch! ... What a fun (& delicious) subscription!! Enjoy! :)

  11. This is awesome! I wish my husband drank wine so I'd have an excuse to buy more bottles!

  12. Definitely one serving size. Lol. My MIL does subscription wine. I've never gotten into though. I just do not drink enough of it to warrant a regular inflow.

  13. This is amazing! I'm so jealous of all of these subscription services. I live in Korea and they don't have that here. I'll enjoy vicariously through you :)

  14. What a great idea. Sometimes I want to move to the US purely for the variety of subscription services. Enjoy the wine!!

  15. If only they'd ship to Japan! I'd totally be all over this!
