Juice From The Raw {REVIEW}

I am sure that we have all heard about juice cleanses by now. There are literally thousands of companies pushing juice cleanses priced from $45-$300 (per a three day cleanse). Some of the "better known" juice companies are Blueprint, Pressed and LoveGrace. It is difficult to pick one that is "best" but there are definitely some things to look for before dishing out the cash to do a cleanse.

You want a cold pressed juice. This method of juicing doesn’t oxidize or degrade the ingredients and keeps nutrients and enzymes more intact.

1. If you are paying all of this money, you want the best ingredients. 2. For obvious reasons, fruits and veggies should be free of pesticides.

Raw pressed veggies that haven’t been heated maximizes the nutrients.

High Pressure Pascalization (HPP) is a method for preserving food without using heat. Bigger cold-pressed juice companies will use this to extend the shelf life of juices, allowing them to distribute to grocery stores and ship them. It’s not always possible, but it is better if you can settle on one without HPP.

So, I am on a mission to loose weight and start living a healthier lifestyle. You could say we are "sweating for the wedding" and it makes it easier because J is willing to do everything with me. The only thing that he can not do is a juice cleanse because of the timings of the juices and his work schedule.
Basically, for three days, you drink 18 juices (6 a day) instead of eating meals. Contrary to popular belief, if you start to feel sick/light headed/ or literally starving, you can eat. The recommend you keep it simple such as egg whites, cucumbers, 5 saltine crackers, etc.
I have been wanting to do a cleanse for forever but I couldn't pick one. I finally stayed up one night  until 3am researching. I decided to go with the "Whenever Cleanse" from Juice From The Raw.
Sweet Greens-apple, celery, swiss chard, kale, cucumber, romaine, spinach, lemon, & ginger
this was a really good start to my morning. I felt full and energized after. The taste was really good as well.
Pineapple Apple Mint- pineapple, apple, mint
so. freaking. yummy! y'all I chugged this one down but then was sad afterwards that it was gone!
Detox Greens-apple, celery, wheatgrass, cucumber, dandelion, arugula, watercress, lemon, & ginger
eh... this one was pretty hard for me to get down but, I definitely felt super full afterwards.
Spicy Lemonade-lemon, water, cayenne, & agave
literally tastes how it sounds-but not in a bad way.
Root Veggies-beet, apple, carrot, lemon, & ginger
I didn't love this one but I also didn't hate it.. It was a bit hard for me to get down but still doable. I felt super full after so that was a plus.
Coconut Fusion-coconut water & coconut flesh
SO yum! curbs all sweet cravings.

All in all, I thought that the cleanse was great. My stomach was much flatter after and I felt really good and energized. I definitely plan to do another cleanse soon. I want to do it once a month ideally. I think that overall the juices were easy enough to drink and they definitely kept me full throughout the day. By the middle of the second day, I was craving something crunchy so I ate 1/2 of a cucumber as they are mostly water. I would highly recommend this cleanse for first timers/beginners!

If you are interesting in doing a juice cleanse, check groupon before you buy one! This cleanse retailed for $185 and all I paid was the $29 shipping cost!

I am SO excited to say that we are finally finished moving. Y'all if anything causes me stress or anxiety, it is moving. I don't know why but the thought of packing all of our things up into boxes really gets to me. Anyways, we are on to the next chapter of our lives together and could not me more excited!

I am also not going to lie to you, I am writing this as I am laying in bed sore as hell haha. Although the majority of the weekend was spent organizing and unpacking, we did manage to sneak in a few fun things!

>>my proud daughter moment<<
last weekend, my dad was overseas for a meeting and they hosted a 5k for the participants. now, if you know my dad, he isn't the athletic 'type' so, we were all shocked to hear that he placed first in the race! I am so lucky to have this guy as my dad-he never fails to make me proud!

From Runge to Ricker: Honeymoon Preview {Pt.9}

Pt. 2: Asking Your Bridesmaids and Little Ones
Pt. 3: Picking a Venue
Pt. 4: Wedding Inspiration
Pt. 5: Engagement Shoot Bloopers
Pt. 6: T-8 Months
Pt. 7: Save the Dates
Pt. 8: T-7 Months

Eeek! Y'all I am SO excited! We have decided on our honeymoon location AND it is almost all paid off! March 14, here we come!

We have decided to book through an all inclusive resort and, we picked Sandals. I did a lot of research regarding this choice because, it is kinda definitely a HUGE deal! Sandals has 17 different resorts on 6 different islands so, it was a lot to look through.

There were a few things that were non-negotiable when we picked a resort
1. a private pool-yeah, they have those
2. butler service-yep they have that too
3. a secluded room

We also wanted a resort that offered day trips/tours and exclusive activities. The sandals that we chose has all of that and more! It is kind of like a stationary cruise ship-but way better!

So, with all that being said, on March 14, 2016, John and I will be on our way to St. Lucia to stay at The Regency La Toc!

holy. freakin. excitement.

where did y'all pick for your honeymoon? OR, where would you want to go?

Fall Makeup Essentials

although it is not fall weather here in Florida, fall is definitely in full, pumpkin spice lattes, kettle corn, and my favorite: fall makeup trends!

Smashbox Primer $36.00
Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation in Coconut $9.99
L'oreal Lumi in Golden $12.99
Miaray Mascara $18.99
Maybelline Color Blur in Plum Please $8.99
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Primer: enough said. great dupe: NYX Photo Loving Primer $12.99

Foundation: I have pretty much always reached for my maybelline foundations whether it be the dream wonder or the fit me line-just all around great products and formulas. This dream wonder formula however, is absolutely my new go to as it is so silky smooth. The formula feels like a serum so I apply two thin coats but I don't feel weighed down by it

L'oreal Lumi: I came across this by accident. I was looking for lip colors and saw the display for the lumi line. I am in love. The lumi liquid illuminance comes in three shades and they are all winners in my book.

Miaray Mascara: I am not even kidding you when I say stop what you are doing right now and RUN to Ulta! This was another 'accidental' find. I was wandering the aisles and saw this display hanging out on its own. It is a fiberwig mascara which means that in the tube, there are fibers that will give you the look of having fake lashes. I have bought 5 tubes of this stuff because I am that obsessed!

Color Blur Lippy: this is such a great lip product. the formula is creamy but not slick or shiny as it is a matte finish.

These are the products I am reaching for everyday this fall, what are some of yours?!

Because. Friday

i. hate. packing.
I feel like all I did this week was pack but yet, I look around and see so much more to do. #thestruggle.

so, I am going to just get right into this because. friday because, I have more packing to do.

1. my "first" vlog!
so, a few months back, I posted a youtube video however, that was pre-engagement. Many of you know that I have decided to take John's last name after March 12, 2016 which comes with the hassle of changing all your accounts and such-well let me tell ya, google (who owns like everything now-including youtube) doesn't make it easy..long story short, there is no way to merge google accounts so, I have created a new one. new email. new blogger profile, new google+ profile and, a new youtube channel!
I posted my first video on that channel on Tuesday!
I would love it if y'all would pop over and 'thumbs up' and subscribe!

2. Sunday was the Miss America competition and like most things lately, I was live tweeting it...well OK TV noticed my tweet and favorited it. *insert sassy girl emoji here*

3. Tuesday night I had the privilege of babysitting the flower girl and ring bearer for our wedding and when I walked in, they were wearing their shirts!
I just love them so much

4. packing. no, this isn't something to celebrate but, since because. friday is all about what I have done throughout the week, this is pretty much all I have done..ugh.
it is never ending. but at least I have a cute helper-thanks yoda!

5. bold lips.
I have always been a fan of a bold lip on everyone but me. I think I just wasn't confident to wear such a statement but, I stumbled across a few new fall lines a week or so ago and I am loving it!
Maybelline color blur in Plum Please

and finally, have I mentioned that tonight, I am going to see LUKE BRYAN?!?!?!
hellooo friday night!

I hope you all have fabulous and safe weekends!

My Unpopular Opinion: Chipotle

Hey Loves! So, if you don't know, I am obsessed with Brittany from Your Friend Brittany she keeps it so real over on her blog and that is pretty freakin' cool if you ask me. If you don't read her blog, click it and read it for some good laughs.

Anyways, she frequently posts "Her Unpopular Opinion" which is basically her view point or stance on a subject that she may feel differently about than most..hence why it may be unpopular. I am deciding to occasionally share a few of my 'unpopular opinions' with you as I think that it is very interesting to see where people stand on various topics.

Today: Chipotle

I think that we can all agree that we know someone like this. However, I can assure you that that someone is not me.

In fact, I think that Chipotle is mediocre at best. I will say, before anything else, that there guacamole is on point for sure #ionlygofortheguac but, I think that their burritos and bowls and whatever else is really just "meh"

I feel like you can not go to chipotle and not feel sick after. I haven't ever been and totally finished what I ordered but even still I always just feel over full. It is almost like the food doesn't digest properly and it just sits extra heavy in your belly.

I also hate that even their 'mild' salsa packs a good punch. Call me a baby if you wish but I just don't like it! It is funny though because I could live off of spicy thai food but there is something about the pepper-y spicy that mexican food tends to have that I can not handle.

I feel like chipotle became popular because it was popular to like chipotle-does that make sense? probably not but #whatevs.

Also, when I do go, I typically get either a steak burrito bowl or a steak salad. Everytime I go, I end up with at least 5 pieces of fatty steak amongst the rest. So why don't you order a different meat? Well, simple, the chicken-at least at ours, is always dry and the carnitas is again, too spicy for me.

I totally get that I am probably in my own little world of anti chipotle over here but I would take Moes or Tijuana Flats (local to FL) over Chipotle any day!

Are you anti or all for Chipotle?

The chat host usually starts by welcoming people and reminding them to use the specific hashtag each time they post. Then, the host will start asking questions in a format similar to this:
Q1: What is your blog URL and location?
then, the chat participants (you) would respond:
A1: in Florida

The Prettiest Pasta Dish You Ever Did See

Yasss Yasss Yasss Y'all have no idea how freakin' excited I am to share this recipe with you!
J and I have turned into quite the healthy eaters since we got engaged. We have both cut out red meat and pork, he doesn't drink and I have seriously cut down, and we have been exploring more meatless entrees for dinner.

I love farmers markets and much like any other form of shopping I do, I tend to get a tad insanely carried away. The other day was no exception. Everything looked so delicious and fresh so I bought lots of items I may not normally pick up.

Alas, The Farmers Market Pasta
The best part about this recipe is that with the exception of a few necessary ingredients, it is all based on what you have and your preferences!

Necessary Ingredients
-thin spaghetti (the veggie portions will go by the amount of pasta you need)*
-3 1/2 cups of water*
-1 cup of dry white wine*
-2 tablespoons of olive oil*
-at least two cups of fresh tomatoes*
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
What Else We Used
-broccoli florets
-sweet onion
-bell peppers
-red pepper flakes
-salt and pepper

What You Will Do
-cut all of the veggies up into bite sized pieces
-place all the veggies, seasonings/spices, and spaghetti into a pot/pan
-add water, wine, and olive oil
-bring to a boil with the lid on
-remove lid and let boil for 5 minutes
-turn heat down to medium, place lid back on
-let simmer for 10-12 minutes stirring frequently

there should be very minimal liquid left over. that liquid acts as a 'sauce' of sorts-it is delish!

serve topped with some extra kale, tomatoes and cheese of choice and enjoy!

y'all I am not kidding when I say you have to try this! and how easy?! one pot, minimal prep and quick cook time! YASSSS

also, totally unrelated but, my first youtube video on my new channel is up:

Weekend Rewind

It is crazy that September is already halfway over!

There are so many exciting things coming up such as
Luke Bryan on Friday Night
Florida Georgia Line in 24 days
and a
Disney Family Reunion with Js family in 33 days!

anyways this weekend, although uneventful was very productive!

F R I D A Y
after J got off work, we ran over to his school to turn in his graduation application *whoop whoop* after, we decided to take a very scenic route home and house hunt in a city north of where we are currently. after doing this, I realized that our stuff is really out of order so, I spent the rest of the night coming up with a home system to keep our accounts in order and us financially in check.

When J got home, we ran a few quick errands and grabbed a quick lunch. When we got back home, we watched the Equalizer and J fell asleep.
I snuck out for a few hours to run a few other errands to Ulta and Target before retuning home to watch Mean Girls with the pups.

S U N D A Y
I woke up with a craving for avocado toast and if you have never had avocado toast, we can't be friends.
I finally mustered up the motivation to start packing for our upcoming move and that lasted for like an hour. y'all there is nothing I hate more than packing up all of our belongings into boxes. it is stressful and it sucks. if you have any packing tips/tricks or hacks puh-lease let me know!
We I finished the afternoon with some blogging tasks while J watched football and finished up some homework. We then met my momma for dinner at quite arguably one of the best restaurants around.

*quick shameless self promo*
switching google account info is one of the hardest things to do
I had to recreate a youtube channel with my soon-to-be- name which caused me to loose my followers and past videos.
I would really appreciate it if you would take a second to subscribe to my new channel! I plan to start posting videos late this week or early next week!

Happy Monday Loves! Make it a great one!

Pura d'Or Review

the products mentioned below were sent to me in exchange for a review. all opinions and pictures are my own.

If you have been around here for a while, you will know that I have some serious hair goals since being engaged.

I have always struggled with my hair as it is very kinky/curly (type c) and it wasn't until recently that I really learned how to deal with it. When I was in middle school, I wanted to be just like my friends who all had poker straight blond hair. They would jump in a chlorinated pool, swim for a while then just put it in a messy bun. When it was time to wash their hair, they would use the best smelling fruity shampoo they could find and then blow dry it or again, put it in a messy bun... I copied them.

end result, massive damage to this curly hair of mine.

Since April, I have sworn off all heat tools until my wedding hair trial day and then again until the day of the wedding. My hair will never be 'healthy' again but with the help of some life changing products, it will get close.

Enter, Pura d'Or. A few weeks ago, a Pura d'Or rep and I got in contact and I was sent a few products to review:

-Gold Label Organic Anti Hair Loss Shampoo $35
this shampoo is argan oil based with a complex formula of vitamin B and biotin in it. my hair has had a history of breaking just from running a comb through it as a result of over using a flat iron. this shampoo was perfect for me as it really strengthened my hair follicles. I noticed over the past few weeks a decrease in the strands of hair that were left in my comb after running it through my hair. this shampoo also thickens and adds volume. the one negative to this shampoo is the smell. it is almost like a hair toner smell. although the conditioner takes that smell away quickly, I couldn't stand it for the mere 2 minutes I take to lather it in and let it sit so I added some lavender essential oil to it and voila!

unlike the shampoo, this conditioner smells amazing. it is lavender scented which (obvs) I love. The conditioner is coconut and vegetable based which helps to hydrate and repair damage from roots to ends. This stuff is weightless and I love it! After using this conditioner for a few weeks, my hair is much shinier and feels healthier. I feel like my hair is much more manageable after using this product. I used to use literally 6 products on my hair to get it at least tamed down but now I am down to 3!

-100% Pure Organic Argan Oil $24
love love love love love. my hair desperately needs oil and soaks it up like crazy without becoming oily or greasy looking. I will say that if you have thin, fine hair I'd skip this. This is legitimate oil. I use the dropper and apply 8-10 drops of oil into my palms. Starting with the ends, I work it into my hair to the scalp. I massage whatever is left on my hands into my scalp for 25-30 seconds. The awesome thing about this oil though is that you can also use it on your skin.

I have been doing a lot of research lately about what is good/is not good for my hair. Although the prices on some other brands that you might find in a drug store are appealing, the ingredient list is not. For about a month, I was using a "moroccan oil" from a drug store that I had heard good reviews on..however once I did my research I realized that it was chalked full of parabens and steer clear of that crap!

The Pura d'Or products although a bit more pricey are all organic and really do work wonders!

Have you used any of these products?
