Because. Friday

What is better than Friday?! well, a four day weekend of course!
this week was a tad bit hellish as the kids in my classroom have been in rare form...all week.
thankfully though, today is a half day for me and I will not be woken up on Monday morning by a 5am alarm. So, in usual fashion, lets get on with this Friday

1. Florida Skies
ICYMI, I posted this picture
on my instagram last night. I definitely complain a lot about living in florida as there are no seasons other than hot and hotter, the summers are miserable, and it is all flat but, the skies are more often than not, breath taking. My favorite times to snap sky pictures would be right before/after a storm, early mornings on the beach or late afternoons on the bridges.

2. Lush Baths
I was really disappointed in myself as I was cleaning the guest bath after Johns momma left and I found my lush bath bomb stash. I have seriously been slackin' on the baths lately. This is such a great time for me to pamper myself, catch up on blog posts, and just relax.

So, the other night right after I got home, I drew myself a pink glitter bath #thankslush

3. Almost Wife Life
Y'all, J really spoils me. between taking me out to dinner, leaving me sweet notes on the bathroom mirror, and buying me flowers, I have to stop and just take it all in. Planning our wedding is certainly a task but I am so excited to be so close to marrying my best friend and the sweetest man out there.
(sporting his pats shirt...get ready to see lots of NE apparel)

4. Breakfast Shakes
no, not the $5 ones from the store or $30 shakeology... homemade and healthy shakes! Since I am back on a regular work schedule, it is important for me to remember to fuel up in the mornings. I however have never been and never will be a sit down breakfast person.. I am all about the quick and on the go type of things
I skipped the Starbucks this week-well I went on Monday-but, since Tuesday, I have been whipping up a quick shake with whatever we had but making sure I included: 2 tbsp steel cut oats, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1 tsp flax seed, and 1 scoop of protein powder-yum!

5. Home cooked meals
I have been trying out new recipes for potential blog posts and have gotten some good ones such as these
90 calorie stuffed peppers-without cheese- ground chicken, quinoa, onions, tomatoes, squash, mmm mmm yum!

well, I hope you all have fabulous long weekends! be safe

  1. We are all about the homed shakes too! They are much less expensive to make and you control everything that goes in!

  2. I want to start making shakes, but I'm with you, the Shakeology is too expensive! Can't wait to see your recipe posts! Happy long weekend!

  3. Love. Love. Love. Your happiness shows! Congrats on the soon to be nuptials.

    Monroe Bishop!

  4. Aweeee how sweet of your man to spoil you!!! That rocks! xo Amanda

  5. Your man sounds like a keeper! So cute that he brings you flowers home! And good for you with the shakes--I need to start drinking them again (homemade) because the other ones are so $$$! Found your blog through the M@TB Link up!

  6. Just stopped into Lush recently and I've been loving their Cup o' Coffee scrub! If I use it in the morning, I'll skip my cup of coffee just because I feel caffeinated from the scrub (kidding). This is the first time I stumbled across your blog on The Blogging Elite and I'm loving it! Also, cheers to your and your fiance as you plan your wedding. Commenting from

  7. Oh! This has me longing for a bath. I was spoiled at my parents house because they have a nice big tub with jets. It just doesn't feel the same in my little ol' bottom of the shower tub.

  8. YES YES YES to homemade smoothies! So much cheaper and healthier! I've never tried steel-cut oats in mine, but that's a great idea to make them more filling. I'm usually hungry again by 10 a.m.

  9. I hear you on the Shakeology! I bought a bag a year ago and I really can't stand it but I've been trying to work my way through because it was too expensive to throw away.

  10. I've never tried anything from Lush before but I really want to.

  11. You're living the life hun. Have an even more wonderful weekend.

  12. I'm a teacher too! What grade are you? I love my baths at the end of the day...

  13. That bath looks like it was relaxing! You look so happy congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

  14. I love a good breakfast smoothie. I like to add flax seed and chia seeds to mine so they're extra filling and last me until lunch. I'm jealous of your luxurious bath time. I've been meaning to use a bath soak I recently. Thanks for reminding me. Have a great weekend!

  15. Baths, flowers and home cooked meals?! Sounds like a perfect week!

  16. That sky is beautiful! And I wish I could figure out how to read blogs while I take a bath haha! I am so paranoid about anything getting in the water!

  17. Great list! I too am enjoying cooking at home, I never eat out anymore! It is great to always know what I am eating! I have a nice tub in my new apartment and I am going to start taking baths with salts ect to help reduce stress levels! Hope you weekend is just as great!
