Black Friday 2015:The Game Plan

Can I just start this off by saying, I don't know why but anytime I think about Black Friday, I hear the Rocky theme song in my head? Like why?

Anyways, I know some people are super anti early Black Friday shopping which is fine but, I am not one of those people. Quite honestly, I dabbled in retail work for like 6 months and working Thanksgiving night/Black Friday was the best night I had there. I got crazy overtime and it was just so insane that it made for a good time.

Anyways, I feel like no Black Friday is successful without a little planning so, I am here to help you with that!

lets talk tips and tricks
1. this is quite possibly the most important tip: dress comfortably. 1. you just ate a ton so to begin with you probably won't feel comfortable in your shift dress and heels 2. girl, it is like 12 a, no need to get all dolled up! I will for sure be in leggings and a tshirt!
2. set a budget! just because you can buy $4000 worth of stuff for $1500 doesn't mean you need to be spending that amount.
3. I think this is a given but, make sure your phone is fully charged! If the store is also having an online sale and the item you want is sold out, you can quickly find it online and order it that way!
4. bring a friend. this year I am going solo actually but, when there is more than one of you, you can divide and conquer
5. make a game plan of what stores you want to hit when.

lets talk store hours
so, this is what I found for our area (tampa bay, fl) some stores such as JC Penny, Kohls, and Target are going from the time they open straight through to when they close on Friday. Others are taking ab break such as Michaels and Sears.

an important thing to remember is that a lot of these stores have online hours as well

I plan to knock a few places off my list by hitting the online sales-yes, I will be up at 12a Thanksgiving shopping Dicks for North Face Jackets and still at 3am shopping the Walmart sales #noshame. After we have Thanksgiving dinner, I plan to be out at the shops around 630-7pm. I will most likely hit target first then move down my list from there. Luckily for my area, pretty much all of these shops are in one plaza. It makes for a crazy night!

My goal this year is to get all of our Christmas shopping done between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

On top of gifts for our friends and family, the main items I am after are:
-70'' Vizio Smart TV (doorbuster $350 off)
-two new North Face Jackets
-Camera Equipment

Do you have the Rocky theme song in your head now? Are you going Black Friday shopping?

  1. So organized! I haven't even thought about what I want for Christmas!

  2. I'm divided when it comes to Black Friday. I've done the whole waiting in line for 8 hours to get the big screen TV thing, and I've also worked retail where Black Friday was CRAZY. This year, we're going shopping once everyone is back in bed from the early morning run around! ;) Fingers crossed there will be things left on the shelves! LOL

  3. Nice gif :)

  4. All your shopping done by next week! You go girl!

  5. I'm stressed just reading this! haha... I'll be Black Friday shopping from my pj's for sure!

  6. Love this! I've never been black friday shopping but if I did, I would definitely do it online!

  7. I hope to get my Christmas shopping done by Cyber Monday as well.
Good luck with the Black Friday festivities.

  8. I wish I lived there; I want to go to the sales too!!!
