2015: The Year of Extreme Beauty Trends...

...that I never want to see again.

I don't know about you but, I couldn't help but roll my eyes over some of the "beauty trends" that became a thing in 2015. I don't know if it was silly celeb influences or people wanting to become a walking tumblr but really-

1. bubble nails
like who saw this and was like "yeah I want a bubble on my nail bed"

2. glitter parts
now, you all know my love of glitter but this is way, way overboard. at what occasion would this be appropriate for?

3. side shave
...like why? so that you can deal with an awkward "growing it out" stage when you have decided to stop being "trendy"?

4. overdrawn lips
kylie jenner, sit down. do you slay the hair game, yes. do you slay the snap chat game, yes. do you slay the lip game? no. sit down. and chill. plus, over drawing your lips is a huge waste of product.

5. grey hair...on a 20 year old
no. no. no. no. ugh this is awful to me. you are 20-30 years old, look like it. you will have ashy locks soon enough.

What trends could you not stand this year?

  1. I've often wondered about the awkward growing out phase for the side shave hairstyle.

And a big no to bubble nails, the glitter part, grey hair on younger people and overdrawn lips.

So basically I'm with you on all the trends in this post! :)

  2. The only two I've seen in real life are #3 and #5. Shaved sides were actually pretty big back in 2012 when I was in beauty school--several of my classmates shaved some portion of their hair during our school days. And yep, the growing out stage is awkward!

  3. I agree with you on all of these. The glitter looks like dandruff which is never a good look!

  4. I hate the grey hair thing, and all the funky hair colors too. I've never seen the bubble nails or a glitter part in real life though, so I'm hoping that's just fake.

  5. Those bubble nails ...YEAH NO! Wtf. lol Those look FUGLY. My sister does the shave head and I'm jealous because she can totally rock that and I can't lol.

  7. I'm sorry but I HATE the side shave. I don't think it's sexy AT ALL. And I'm all about trying crazy things with my hair!

  8. hahaha these are so funny! You can totally fake a side shave, if you style your hair right, so why shave and have that awkward grow out phase like you said! Also bubble nails, gross!

  9. some of these are funny....some (like glitter partings) work in photoshoots etc. but not real life. Lol. I have never seen bubble nails before and never want to see them again after today...EW! I think the side shade suits some but dont get where it came from all of a sudden. Hehe!

  11. Oh!! I didn't know about the bubble nail polish. The glitter on the part is awful. Don't really mind the grey hair tho cause I am colour blind :P

  13. I really dislike all of these, but then again, I'm not crazy about any beauty trend that looks completely unnatural. Awesome post!

  14. Can someone explain the bubble nails to me? Like why would anyone think those are cute?! haha I don't think I've seen them in person, but I always hate seeing them in photos. Great list!

  15. Okay, every single one of these had me laughing. I didn't even know bubble nails were a thing, but that looks AWFUL. And I'm loving the point you made about the shaving and how it's going to grow out. Like, how? Thanks for the laugh Sarah.
