Addicted to Anthropologie

As much as I am obsessed with Target, Anthropolgie is my true downfall-I just don't have that kind of cash flow to blow. Anyways, through my weekly Anthro-stalking I found some new beauties I just can't resist!

I have all the heart eyes for these finds so... if you wanted to buy me something, my address is:
P.O. Box 110405

Are you as Anthro-crazed as me?

From Runge to Ricker: Groomsman Gifts {Pt. 16}

Welcome back to another Wedding Wednesday!

Since last week was all about the girl's gifts, I decided I should share what the boys got as well! Can I just say, groomsmen gifts are hard to shop for! All three of our groomsmen were very different so it was hard for J and I to figure out what to get them. Although what we picked may be considered as generic, the quality of all the items was excellent and all the boys seemed to love them!

Humidor // Flask Set // Zippos // Knife

Both of John's brothers are really into cigars. Although I know absolutely nothing about them, I did my research on what makes a Humidor good. We figured the Zippos would be a good accompaniment to the humidor. A flask set is kind of an all around easy gift and then the monogrammed knife well, they are boys. haha!

What did you get for your groomsmen?

Peanut Orange Thai Chicken [Recipe]

My adoration of Thai food may be over the top to some.. I could literally live off Thai food and when we go for Thai food, I gorge myself and eat an obscene amount of it but, I am never mad about it! I love bringing Thai into our kitchen though! This recipe is one of our favs and a total staple in our house! Note: this is so not a quick meal-but it is totally worth it!

Week 13: Be The Change...

Happy Monday loves! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend filled with family and yummy food. I can already tell you that today is definitely  one of those Mondays and I am not happy about it. I literally got like two hours of sleep after having my free standing closet fall on me at one am and cleaning the mess until about 330-more details on that on my snapchat (ssarahhhh14). Anyways, lets get into the Blogger Challenge!

Welcome Back to Week 13 of the 52 Week Blogger Challenge. For this prompt, it is getting deep. This week is "Be The Change You Wish To See"
I know I am not the only one that avoids the news because of the heartbreak and terror happening day after day hour after hour. People ranting that this race life matters or that race life matters. I just wish it was as simple as everyone stopping, taking a step back and really determining what is important in the world.

We have veterans who are homeless, eight year old girls being sold into sex rings or forced marriages, teenagers overdosing, terrorist groups threatening the lives of many, animals being euthanized as a cause of maxed out shelters. When will it all stop?

Obviously, I can't change the world with the snap of my fingers but what I can do we can all do is be kind. There are so many days where I will see people holding the door for another and the other person doesn't even bother to say "thank you" or I will see a mother struggling in the grocery store with her two kids while trying to check out-people will stare but they don't offer to help.

I am actively trying to be a better person and for me, that starts with selflessness and kindness.
I will pay it forward
I will offer help to someone in need
Shoot someone a smile because, why not
Lend a hand without being asked
I will not judge others
I will give others the benefit of the doubt

I will be kind.

How will you better our world?

Hask Hair [Review]

Let's talk about hair. Everyone has it. Some people love theirs and other wish they could change theirs.. I am one of those people. I have never felt super confident with my hair. When I was in middle school (eight years ago) I learned what a flat iron was.. I regret this-but we will come back to that-. For seven and a half years I would straighten my hair just about everyday. I felt more confident with straight hair. More preppy and girly. I thought it was great. Plus, the struggle of curly hair was no joke.

I thought this until last spring when I really looked at my hair and noticed that it was starting to break severely in several places. Like to the point where I had to use bobby pins to successfully put my hair in a pony tail. This is where the regret comes into play. I was straightening my hair so much but was blind to all of the damage it was doing.

So, last spring after breaking down in tears over the bathroom sink, I made an appointment with a hair stylist in my area who is known for specializing in mixed hair types. She gave me a ton of tips for proper hair care and sent me on my way. I went back a few weeks ago a little defeated because although I hadn't used any heat tools in over six months, I didn't feel like my hair was growing.

Enter Hask Hair. One of the product lines my stylists recommended was Hask. I went to straight to Ulta and pretty much bought them out of the Hask line. Let me tell you-100% honest blogger to blogger this stuff is liquid gold. My hair feels SO much softer, hydrated, healthy and it has grown one and a half inches since using Hask (one month)

Products I Am Loving

Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner $5.99

What Hask ClaimsHit the snooze button and give your hair a tropical vacation with HASK Monoi Coconut Oil Nourishing Shampoo. Infused with softening monoi oil, a blend of Tahitian gardenias and coconut oil, to hydrate and strengthen, this shampoo gently cleanses leaving even the most lifeless locks refreshed and revived. Ideal for all hair types, this shampoo’s delicious coconut scent will awaken your senses.

My Thoughts: Where are the praise emoji hands when you need them?! This pair leaves my hair silky soft, clean and manageable. The shampoo doesn't leave my hair feeling too dry and the conditioner allows me to run my fingers through my hair right away without combing it first.

Argan Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment $2.99
Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Treatment $2.99

What Hask ClaimsThis deep conditioner is an ultra restorative moisturizing treatment that will revitalize all hair types. Known for its re-hydrating and softening qualities and for leaving all hair types nourished, moisturized and revived. Free of: sulfates, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors.

My Thoughts: I probably use these all too often. I am not kidding when I say I bought Ulta out of this line. I bought about 20 of these packets. If you have mixed hair, you know how crucial it is to keep your hair hydrated. What I actually do with this stuff is leave it in overnight. So, I will shampoo my hair then get out of the shower. While my hair is still super wet, I will work the conditioner into my hair and massage my scalp. Then I will put a shower cap over it and sleep like that over night. In the morning I will hop in the shower and wash it out-viola-perfect hair.

Argan $2.99/Keratin $2.99/Monoi $2.99

My Thoughts: I am going to leave out the claims as there are three different ones. These all come in larger sizes for $5.99 but I just couldn't decide which one I would like best soI got the sample vials of each...I wll be going back and buying all of the full sized ones. I think that these oils are why my ends are so much healthier now. I apply the oil from the middle of my hair strands down to my ends. I will then massage the extra into my scalp. Thankfully with my hair, oil doesn't really show in my roots so I layer this on. On the nights that I don't do the deep conditioning treatment, I will do an oil treatment. Basically I will mix about a dime sized about of each oil in my palm, mix them, then apply them to my hair.

What Hask ClaimsRepair That Hair is formulated with a specialty blend of ingredients developed to pack your hair with moisturizing agents that are lost due to environmental and styling damage. Ditch your old routine and feed your hair with 1 miracle product that provides 5 amazing benefits: moisturizes to prevent breakage, detangles and smooth's, controls frizz and flyway's, adds shine and provides thermal protection. Free of: sulfates, parabens, gluten, alcohol and artificial colors.

My Thoughts: If you try anything from Hask, this should be it! I would say that this is a great dupe for the "It's a 10" leave in. This is 5 products in one and it is amazing. I don't miss a day with this product. The smell is great too!

Y'all this line of hair care is boosting my confidence to rock the curls I was born with-like to the extent that I may keep my hair curly for the wedding!

have you used Hask before? What are your thoughts?

Obviously the girls I picked to stand by my side are very important to me. I wanted to make sure they new that so I picked out a few special gifts for each of them! I gave them gifts at both the Bachelorette Weekend and the night before the Wedding at the Rehearsal Dinner. Spoiled, maybe but these girls have all been by my side and 100% kicked ass at the bridesmaid game so, they definitely deserved it!

Baked Blueberry Oatmeal Cups [Recipe]

Breakfast is such a hotmess around these parts. I really have been trying to set a goal to eat breakfast at least three times a week-I know that isn't a lot but it is better than nothing. Anyways, I like things that are quick and easy. Premade breakfasts are my jam but sometimes they aren't tasty so I bring you these little gems of deliciousness.

What You Will Need
-2 cups uncooked steel cut oats
-2 cups mashed banana (you want over ripe bananas for this)
-3/4 cup frozen blueberries
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-2 eggs
-2 tsp baking powder
-2 tsp vanilla

What You Will Do
1. preheat oven to 350 and prep a muffin pan
2. add bananas, oats, vanilla, eggs, and baking powder to a bowl. stir well to combine
3. gently fold in blueberries
4. using an ice cream scoop, fill muffin tin-you can fill pretty high as these do not rise too much
5. bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
6. enjoy!

Make sure to check back next Monday for the start of wedding recap mania!

Week 11: Favorite TV Shows

Welcome Back to Week 11 of the 52 Week Blogger Challenge: Favorite TV Shows
We all have our vices and one of mine is TV shows. I am a sucker for trashy reality TV-and I am not ashamed of it!

the Bachelor, Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. I love it all! This season of the Bachelor I was particularly interested in because I mean, have you seen Mr. Higgins?? Also, I love the awkwardness of the group dates and two on ones!

I just can't look away! The drama (although fake) is just too good to not watch! Kristen and James totally make this show for me. She is a straight up lunatic and he, well, he is absolutely the cockiest guy on the planet.

obsessed. J and I started watching White Collar on Netflix and we are 100% addicted. We binge watch the crap out of this show. It is a show that was on USA about a conman turned FBI investigator-it is so good!

I know there are some people that don't like Ellen but honestly, she just does so much good. Ellen is so uplifting and does so much to give back. I record her shows and watch them whenever I get a chance. Never fails to put a smile on my face!

What are your favorite shows?

Week 10: A Day in The Life

Welcome Back to Week 10 of the 52 Week Blogger Challenge.

This week is all about a Day in My Life!

Friday, March 4, 2016

Cheers to You, Friday

Happy Friday Y'all! Do you guys understand that in 7 days...7 freaking days, I will be preparing for our rehearsal dinner? Which then means that in 8 days, I will be getting ready to marry my best friend?! Like how insanely fast time flies!

Anyways, I feel like this week I didn't do much but really, I didn't do anything "picture worthy" but I got a ton done! My whole editorial calendar for March has been filled out. Due to our wedding and honeymoon I wanted to be as prepared as possible. So I do apologize for the anti-climactic Friday post!

o n e.
my recent tj maxx and look human finds have been my recent obsessions. I feel like I have worn these jeans all week and I am not even mad about it! praise the fashion lords for $20 tj maxx jeans!

 t w o.
I was 50 shades of productive this week. I really pushed to get any and everything wedding related done so that I can really soak up and enjoy next week with all of our friends and family in town. From placecards to the seating chart-chart to all the bridal party gifts, I got it done! I also had my final fitting on Wednesday and it could not have gone better!

t h r e e.
I am so obsessed with my Happy Planner. I have posted a few pictures and snaps about it and every time I get a bunch of people asking about it. I actually found it on a whim. I was in Hobby Lobby and while I was browsing the shelves it caught my eye. It is literally an Erin Condren for 1/3 of the price.

f o u r.
I know I have said it like 100 times but you guys...in just 7 DAYS we will be getting ready for our rehearsal dinner then in just 8 days...E I G H T D A Y S I will be getting ready to marry my best friend-eek!
throwback

i c y m i.
