Spring has sprung so for me, that means it is time to bring on the fruity icy cocktails. I mean, I guess you could say that in Florida, it is always time for an on the rocks type of a drink (even in the dead of "winter") but there is just something about the spring that makes fruity drinks that much tastier.
Today I am bringing you one of my faves. It is a twist on a classic-a vodka mojito. Typically mojitos are made with rum. Although those are tasty, sometimes I just need a little vodka in my life. My preference is Tito's as it is so smooth and blend-able. Mojitos are great as they are super customizable. I chose orange for this recipe but, you could go with traditional, lemon, mango, kiwi, strawberry. etc.!
What You Will Need
-3 oz. Tito's Vodka
-1 can of tonic or sparkling water (not pictured)
-2 Sugar Cubes (not pictured)
-4-5 Mint Leaves
-Fruit of your choice
What You Will Do
-pour your mixer into a glass
-add the 3oz. of Tito's
-add the sugar cubes, allow to dissolve and then stir well
-if using a 'juice-able' fruit, squeeze the juice from it into the glass and then roughly chop some pieces as well to add
-finely chop the mint and add to the mixture. stir well. while stirring, crush the mint to the oils get released into the cocktail
- add ice, garnish and enjoy
