Oval Brush Set Review

this is not a sponsored post

Happy Thursday Babes!

I am not going to  lie, I am pretty excited about this post!

A few months ago, I was watching Jacyln Hill on Youtube and she showed an Artis Oval Brush and I thought it was the coolest thing so, I ran over to their website only to be severely disappointed. Their brushes range from $35-$85..I am sorry but I just can not fathom spending that amount on one single brush.

I searched tons of brush sites and couldn't find anything like those Oval Brushes until I came across My Make Up Brush Set. This company offers a 10pc. Oval Brush Set for $25.99. Obviously I bought them!

Brushes
(left to right):
 1. setting powders/body brush
2. foundation
3. blush/contour/bronzer
4. contouring
5. concealer/highlight
6. upper/lower lash line
7. upper/lower lash line
8. crease
9. lips
10. brows

So, Why the Oval?
the oval shape allows for total even coverage and less wasted product. these brushes allow me to use 1/2 of the product I would with a traditional brush. I have also found that it is so much easier to blend with these brushes and I think it is because of the handle design. You are able to apply as much or as little pressure as you want depending on how you hold the brush.

Durability
these brushes are also great because they don't hold as much product as a traditional brush. you are able to get the majority of the product on your face instead of it caking in the brush. I also love that the fibers do not shed as much as a traditional brush. I think I have only lost 5 bristles total in the month that I have been using these. As much as I love my traditional brushes, it is everyday that I loose bristles.

Downsides
I do not think this would be a downside if you sprung for the brand name brush set but #aintnobodygotthefundsforthat so, the handles are cheap. The brush head itself is high quality, durable, and great however, the handle is crap. I feel like it is super cheap plastic and if I were to press too hard, it would just snap off. Other than that, I am in love!

Have you seen the Oval Brushes? What do you think?
